Who is the father of Animation?
Emile Cohl was called a French cartoonist & animator is often referred to as “The Father of the Animation”. He was born on 4 January 1857 at Paris & his father, Elie, was a rubber salesman, & his mother, Emilie Laure, a linen seamstress. At the age of 7, Emile Cohl was enrolled at the boarding school. There his artistic talents were discovered & encouraged. In 1878, he apprenticed himself to Andre Gill, the period’s foremost political caricaturist. He was the first to adapt a comic strip into a regular animated film series.
